History of Homeschool Wyoming

Homeschool Wyoming was orginally founded as Homeschoolers of Wyoming (HOW) in 1996, with the purpose  of serving the Lord Jesus Christ by supporting and encouraging families interested in home education.  In 2020, HOW was rebranded to Homeschool Wyoming or Homeschool Wyo (HSWYO). The purpose of Homeschool Wyoming is to watch over legislative actions pertaining to parental rights and homeschool freedom and to advocate to protect our valuable freedom. Additionally, since 2003, the organization has funded the state convention; working to bring nationally recognized speakers to Wyoming for the purpose of encouraging, equipping and strengthening our homeschool community across the state.  The convention historically has moved around the state depending upon the support of volunteers and available facilities in an area and since 2018, the conventions have been held in Cheyenne Wyoming.

Our Mission & Vision
It is our mission to protect homeschool freedom in Wyoming so that each family can direct and fund the education of their children with minimal governmental oversight.  Our annual Homeschool Wyo convention features nationally recognized homeschool speakers and vendors and we provide access to many free resources and materials to equip Wyoming families to begin homeschooling, be encouraged, and finish the journey through the high school years. It is our vision to help Wyoming homeschoolers connect in in a strong and vibrant community.
